Jews were not a minority in the land of Israel, Canaan for the past 5000 years. Of course, definitions change and boundaries change, but there have been Jews there for most of the time and certainly enough to justify a historical reason for Israel's existence.

As I've posted, this is not my reasoning. I believe Israel exists as a safe guard against further holocausts.

That's why we need to be so ever vigilent against the purveyors of hatred.
