Get real. Clark entered the race to BEAT Dean. Everyone in the Dem party except Deanie supporters wants to make sure Dean is not the nominee. Clark is Dean's enemy not his friend.

Dean has not gotten a single major endorsement anywhere. Why? Because everyone knows the DNC doesn't want Dean. Dean has also already peaked. Now Clark is getting the most attention. To begin, Kerry got most of it. Who's next? That depends.

IMHO this is a race now between Dean and everyone else.
Dean would need to swamp the competition to get endorsed by the party powers and other candidates. Those persons control the delegates which are necessary for any of these men to be nominated. Clark's entry almost guaranteed Dean cannot win enough votes to overwhelm the party and not need the Super Delegates. The insiders know Dean is the worst-suited major candidate to run against Bush. That's why Kerry has a much better chance than Dean ot be nominated despite being behind him in most polls. It's the math. 50.1% of delegates required to win. Dean cannot win those on votes alone in a crowded field, especially with Clark stealing his "independent" thunder.
