I agree that we were better suited for working a Micky D's then these kids are. They seem better suited for college.

I agree with Tom C. I look at the grades (and SAT scores) that are required to get into some of the better colleges, and I know that I wouldn't be accepted today (even with grade inflation and "dumbing down the SAT"). When I went to University, incoming freshmen (at my school) had probably an average GPA of ~3.4 and SAT scores of maybe 1100. Now the average freshmen (at the same college) have average GPAs of 4.0 and the average SAT score is over 1300. And I didn't take any AP courses - that wouldn't cut it today.
