Just a comment on the "extra 2 days theory." I just checked and 2002's Q3 ended on 9/29/02, which was a Sunday, just like 9/28/03. Couldn't check further back (the SEC link with 10Qs seems to be broken), but I'm pretty sure that all quarters always end on Sundays. Once every 5-7 years AMD has a quarter with 14 weeks instead of 13.

I also take the lack of 256K AThlon 64s as a very positive sign, but wonder whether we will actually see them on 90 nm either -- at least until the Athlon core disappears.

Very interesting and carefully constructed post. Every reason to be optimistic about AMD's future, more specifically q4 and FY04! Not just good but outstanding upside potential does exist!
