I think the magic of the "9/11!" chant is beginning to wear thin with Americans. They're realizing Bush hypnotized them with the chant and tricked them into Iraq when they were afraid and looking for a leader, and instead got a neo-con man. They just keep chantin' though.
Health care? = "9/11!", deficit = "9/11!", dead in Iraq = "9/11!", no jobs = "9/11!", economy sucks = "9/11!".

No, not everything gets blamed on 9/11. Clinton gets blamed for allowing all the pre-9/11 terrorism to occur, unanswered, that led up to 9/11 ('93 WTC bombing, Khobar Towers bombing, African embassies bombings, USS Kole bombing). With a bolder response in the '90's, it wouldn't have happened.

Aside from that, you and your friends have a very convenient and selective amnesia about how devastating 9/11 was, and still is for the survivors and many Americans, and in nearly every element of the economy. Somebody on this thread, I believe, reluctantly acknowledged the other day that 9/11 did affect the travel industry (implying no one else was affected)!

I drove the NJ turnpike past NYC in Aug. '02, and listening to NYC talk radio in the car, you would have thought 9/11 had happened just the day before. People were weeping on the radio, wondering if and how they were going to get their lives back together.
