Poor Ch- I do hate to disillusion you. Curves is definitely not a wild and happening place. I staggered in there this morning and found five other tired middle-aged to elderly women in sweats glaring into the middle distance as they went through their paces.

I think Curves is sort of the nursing home of gyms.
A pasture for old racehorses.

There was a brief flutter of excitement when someone managed to roll double sixes with these big foam dice that you get to try every time you do a circuit. Other than that, I would say the energy level was low to barely breathing, despite the loud raucous thumping rock music that drives us from one machine to the next.
No, this is not the setup for eligible bachelor meets sexy single.. unless you have fantasies about Angela Lansbury or Granny Clampitt.

I think I mentioned that I took an intro class in Pilates on Saturday. I was very impressed. Had lunch the next day with a friend who was having back spasms again. It seemed to me that Pilates might be just the right exercise for him and told him so. There were no men in my class and, as we asked questions about the program, we asked about men. The instructor said that there were some men who did Pilates but it was mostly women. I told my friend this thinking that he would pooh-pooh Pilates as not a guy thing, but he reacted just as you said. He thought a class with all women would be great. LOL.
