I've been wondering, could he have obtained the same results if he had entered the race as a Democrat?

I don't think you can go anywhere outside the two party system in California. Could he have survived a primary? I doubt it. This was a "Fluke" opportunity for him.

How will he govern? He could be all over the place when you read about the key advisors to him. A bunch of west side liberals.

I disagree w. LB, I'm quite sure it would have been his regardless. I agree w. Jesse Ventura, he could have, and should have, run as an independent. He would have won, without being beholden to either party apparatus. He wasn't going to do that, however, since his ambition is larger than that.

As a result the Repubs will attempt to assimilate Arnie's ambition, if he's successful in managing California. He's got the benefit of the doubt but if he fails, he'll fail big.

I think he's in luck, since we're coming out of the recession -- it'll be a jobless recovery, so the jobless will want to be entertained, and he's more entertaining than Davis <g>

Don't know FL, but one sister and family live in the VERY liberal Fresno area...She ALWAYS votes for the Dem, no matter who it is. She and her hubby voted this time for Arnold !!!!

Said it was the workers comp taxes that FINALLY got to them!

I of course, had to laugh....actually gufaw to be more accurate.

But then, I had listened to Arnold before, and liked him then. I think he will surprise people. But the Democrat House and Senate of CA won't surprise anyone....so don't know if any one can help CA if they don't want to be helped.

It's going to be interesting to watch, that's for sure.
