The new American "colonies" established by the war on terrorism?

Samoa, Puerto Rico, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Somoa and Puerto Rico are not new or connected to the war on terrorism at all. Nor in those cases is the US an unpopular hostile exploiting power.

At one time we were unpopular in PR and Samoa. However, its true that the US never developed into a colonial power. However, we now occupy Afghanistan and Iraq against the wishes of at a least of portion of the resident populations in those two countries. One man's ally can be another man's occuping force.

Afghanistan doesn't really fit the bill as a colony. At most it would be a client state, and again the US is not exploiting and abusing Afghanistan for the sole benefit of Americans.

Iraq is a situation we want to get out of. We aren't trying to get a colony we wanted to kick out Saddam's regime. Now that that is done we could leave but there would be dangerous chaos in the wake of our leaving. We have a responsibility to settle the situation before leaving.

I've got news for you.......with Afghanistan, we were supposed to go in, find OBL, get rid of the Taliban and set up a democratic gov't. Two years later, an exit plan is no where in sight.

You seem to think Iraq too will be a quickie job. The ave. estimate is that we will be there for 5 years; some are saying ten.

Where are the concentration camps? (Don't tell me Gitmo is Auschwitz.)

Rome wasn't built in a day.

Where are the construction crews for the concentration camps, where are the bills before congress or executive orders establishing such camps, where is the propaganda from a major political party or even a large political organization or publication calling for them? You say Rome wasn't built in a day but it was started one day. Where is the start?

Freedoms are being usurped slowly. It took over ten years for Germany to go from a democracy to a dictatorship. And its not likely to happen in the same way as Germany.

I definitely do not like the attitude of those in power and the abridging of freedoms in the name of the war on terrorism. Every day, more and more of what I consider positive legislation is being dismantled. For the first time in my life, I distrust the federal gov't. Bush has divided this country in a way I have never seen before. I now believe that the country I grew up in may no longer exist.
