Depends how you figured that. If (1+gain1/100)*(1+gain2/100)*...(1+gainN/100)=423.20, yes, that would be correct. But the total gain would be a lot less than (1+AgvGain/100) raised to the N power, because, for example, a 90% loss requires a 900% gain to compensate for it.

I'll play a little more with the numbers and check the short six months, long six months strategy as well.
