Jim,

and the beat goes on....since they were privately held, it's hard to say what the Cogentrix sale really means...my gut says it's the slight positive as Goldman sees an eventual turnaround in the sector. The sale price doesn't concern me as I believe BK with no residual value for the owners was right around the corner; especially if the QF preference goes down in flames in the energy bill. Timing is very interesting and as usual Mark Goldman is the best Wall Street reporter bar none. Hope he remains a mainstay reporting on the energy sector for years to come.

The CPN debt downgrade comes as no surprise to me....$18B of total debt is quite staggering. They may yet pull it off but I still give them a 50/50 shot of following in MIR's footsteps. Should know in about a year. I actually hope they make it and, they might because they have guys who know how to work the biz better than anyone else. Anyhoo, the best outcome for me would be to see RRI seperate themselves from what's left of the pack and make a big move during the next 12 months while CPN remains a laggard and then, if it looks like their survival is highly likely, parlay some gains from RRI into CPN. It's possible one may get to hit two homeruns here and it may not be as farfetched as it sounds. Sheeet.....things pan out just right and I could be planning an early retirement in a couple years...LOL

CNP had a nice report today along with some other names. Maybe RRI will surprise in a good way? You never know I guess.
