You are now trying to change your argument. You flunk debate 101. The old euro economy is retired and in a wheelchair. The welfare-entitlement system there is alive and well. Why work when you can get paid by the govt of France to do nothing? New Europe is doing great! They've learned the lessons. Don't get me started on California. But in their defense, they are dealing with massive education and health care bills for illegal immigrants that Fed courts say they must cover.
