We really don't know how our weather works. The Greens take any stance they can to blame it on man. We are beginning to understand that "Heat sinks" balance the atmosphere. Here is a good quote.

Despite popular belief, the "greenhouse effect" is very beneficial to life on earth. If there was no greenhouse effect we all would be dead! The "greenhouse effect" is a thin "blanket" of gases that protects the earth from the ultraviolet radiation from the sun. The key elements in this gas layer are carbon dioxide and water vapor. Others include: methane, ozone, and CFC's (chloroflourocarbons), which intensify the heat-trapping properties of the atmosphere as a whole. For without this layer of protection the earth would be inhabitable.
