We have no idea what's going to happen in Iraq in the next 5 to 10 years, but we can be fairly certain that the rosy scenario painted by the Bush admin during the war is not on plan.

1. The Administration has consistently maintained the postition that the war on terror (including the war in Iraq) would take years. Could you cite specifically where they have "painted a rosy scenario"?

2. Certainly, the situation in Iraq today is far better than anyone could have expected. While it is unfortunate we're having to deal with terrorists there, all things considered, the war has gone well from start to finish.

You would have a better understanding of what is really happening in Iraq if you be more careful where you get your news.

Neither were we on plan in the first two weeks of the war. Seems like we got to Baghdad just fine. I'm sure we'll get to the new Iraq just fine as well.

And by the way, how many more lives and $billions is it going to cost to actually get SH and OBL?

Probably a lot less than it cost to "contain" communism.

It's surprising that we can and are willing to estimate the number of people killed by SH in a given year but can't or are unwilling to estimate the number that we killed. My guess is that the latter exceeds the former by 10X

My guess is its closer to the other way around.
