<Your religious bigotry would have a point if Christian evangelicals were abroad blowing up innocent Muslims.>

Boykin is a Christian evangelical. And he has made a career of going abroad and blowing up Muslims.

But not all Crusaders are like Boykin, carrying both Bible and Sword, preaching in Church one day, and slitting the throats of infidels the next day. Most Crusaders specialize for greater effectiveness, in one or the other. There is a history, stretching all the way back to when Constantine raised a Cross at the head of his army, of Christian armies backing up unarmed Christian missionaries. This continues today, as various Christian missionaries go into Iraq, a place they would not have access to, if it weren't for the U.S. Army. You may not acknowledge this connection, but even a casual reading of the Arab press, says They make this connection.

So, this your position:
Mahathir is an anti-semite, because he said
Message 19411912
Message 19414695
Jacob Snyder is a religious bigot, for calling Boykin a Crusader.
Boykin's words: Message 19419110

My position is:
Mahathir is a flexible Jihadist, the kind we can make a deal with.
Boykin is an inflexible Crusader, who needs to be leashed and muzzled.

If Boykin were just a private citizen, he could say anything he wanted. But he is a lieutenant-general, and also serves as deputy under-secretary of defense. Anyone in his position, should not be allowed to keep that position, if he says things that Muslims hear as Incitement to Religious Violence, the same way many Americans reacted to Mahathir's speech.

Can you not, even a little bit, stand in the Other Man's Shoes? Even if your only motivation is to learn how to defeat him, this would still be a useful thing to do.

Hi John Cavanaugh; Re: "Your religious bigotry would have a point if Christian evangelicals were abroad blowing up innocent Muslims. Last time I checked they were abroad providing food, shelter and medicine."

Most of them probably are, but the same could be said of most Islamic evangelicals.

A good part of recent terrorist activity in the US (other than the lucky hit on 9/11/2001) is due to Christian Fundamentalists. I recall assassinations, especially of abortion providers, as well as numerous bombings. That the Christian Fundies aren't as well trained as the Moslem Fundies is due to the Moslems having the advantage of 50 years of Israeli training.
