Knowledge involves a high level of confidence deriving from the evidentiary and logical state of the case. It is not absolute, and may be subject to revision, but the chances are slight. Opinion, though based upon evidence and reasoning, is less secure in its foundation, and therefore more tentatively held and expressed. Belief is stronger than opinion, but weaker than knowledge. There is a species of belief which is more like opinion, but is held more strongly because of the moral and/or pragmatic argument in its favor, i.e., that it is good to hold........
