Yes. Pretty amazing. A month later and the headlines keep hitting.

Overall I can't remember a time in recent memory when so many U.S. exchanges were in a state of flux.

NYSE - defending its system from ECN's and Institutional players, facing SEC wrath
AMEX - looking for an owner, facing SEC wrath
CBOE - getting crushed by ISE and trying to fight off the BOX entry
CBOT/CME - trying to fight off the EUREX entry
NASDAQ - trying to retain mkt share against ECN's in the face of mounting losses.

Interesting times. I think I smell consolidation in the not too distant future.
