It is pretty clear that not all of us share the same reality. I don't know anyone who would willing fly a plane into a building- and yet, some other people know those people, and still other people ARE those people. if people really believe in their experiences, they are real for them- but it doesn't make it real for the rest of us, or real in any sense outside of their own consciousness.

There are people who believe they are fat and starve themselves to death over it. They really believe it, and for them it is real enough to die for. Seems very much like the mindset of a religious martyr to me. Perhaps it's all in the wiring.

Speaking of different realities...
I went perfume shopping today, and I thought of you.

That is the nature of most of the things we know, we are not in a position to prove them to others. But yes, it could have been gas.......

My ex claimed a religious experience. I did not challenge him. OTOH, it could have been just gas.

Of course, all our knowledge and perception are in our minds, so whatever it came from, it was actually to him electrical charges firing across synapses.

What I find very interesting is the very early science of identifying areas in the brain that appear to be particularly active during periods of religious thought. Maybe our brains are smarter than we are.

Did you hear about the cannibal who passed his mother-in-law in the jungle?

Two cannibals were sitting by a fire. The first says, "Gee, I hate my mother-in-law."

The 2nd replies, "So, try the potatoes."
