"Your post admits that the Arabs fled. From what I've read, the Arabs thought they would defeat the Jews and encouraged their people to leave."

That's the MAIN problem. It wasn't one battle. It was a concerted effort to spread the fear of what happened at Deir Yassin among the Arab population. The Israeli story is that the people all went galloping out of their homes leaving their possessions unattended because the Arab countries told them they were coming. That is totally unbelievable. Why not wait in your home and grab homes of Jewish people. We have trouble getting people out of their homes when a huricane is coming and they know their homes will be protected by national guard. Jewish people remained in their homes for 10 years before Hitler rounded them up. Human beings (even Arabs) do not leave their homes voluntarily. Also, British were monitoring all radio frequencies and there were NO such broadcasts made. The people were driven out. That puts a different slant on it. You try to imply they got what they deserved because they left expecting to come back in triumph. That is spin.
