Dean is genuine, which is why he's successful. He's not the average politico, tied to the DC insider routine. It's interesting that Tucker Carlson on Crossfire yesterday paid tribute to Dean, as having genuine grassroots support, unlike the others.

$1 billion in payola can't fake that, so he's got the advantage of the opposition. The best they can do is be deceptive and insulting, and it's not working, judging by the NYT Bestseller list.
