Equips getting pounded in AH: KLA-Tencor says order growth below expectations Wednesday October 22, 5:26 pm ET SAN FRANCISCO, Oct 22 (Reuters) - KLA-Tencor Corp. (NasdaqNM:KLAC - News), the largest maker of measurement and inspection tools for microchip makers, on Wednesday said orders in its fiscal first quarter rose 1 percent from the fourth quarter, below its target of 5 percent. The company also said it expected orders to rise 5 percent in the second quarter ending in December. It forecast revenue of $320 million to $325 million, and earnings of 18 cents to 19 cents for that period. Shares fell sharply in after-hours trading, dipping as low as $54.26 from a closing price of $58.05 on Nasdaq.
