You use a premise I disagree with, as if it were not the point of the controversy, and then berate me for not accepting it. Much of what Aristotle thought turned out not to be true, and he attained a kind of authority that inhibited challenge. Do you deplore the influence of Aristotle, or consider that those who gave their lives to studying him wasted their time? Plato made almost no contributions to the natural sciences, and in the long run inspired Neo- Platonism, which was very obscurantist, and yet I do not see you deploring the influence of Plotinus. No, bigotry is just the right word........
