Dean has fallen in all polls this past month. He won't fall too far but he needs to run away with it to win. As I have already explained. The DNC is dead-set against Dean getting anywhere close to the nomination, though they won't admit it. Since they control 37% of the delegates and Clark is in now to steal Dean's thunder, that's enough to keep him from winning. Also, I think you are over-estimating Dean. He gaffes a lot and changes his stances often. It's not clear exactly what he stands for. Maybe because he's desperately trying to move to the middle now. His desperate attempt to woo Clark into being his running mate was a sign of great weakness and also arrogance. He doesn't know what he's dealing with.
