It not traditional Democrats though. There is a body of thought from the Marxist/Leninist anti-American academic left from the 60's that is convindced that American power is the most dangerous threat to world peace in our lifetimes.

The fact that this theory originated in the Kremlin at the height of the Cold War mattered naught to the American-hating academics. Their mush-minded draft-didging followers took over the Democratic party in 1970 and have run it since. The Clinton Administration foreign policy team took that old Communits theory as gospel, and their hatred for America was their legacy.

What do you want to call "treason"? This is certainly close enough...

And the republicans want to sign over our sovereignty to the IMF and World Bank and FTAA and GATS, etc. Not exactly the sovereignty of the corporations, but the ostensible sovereignty of the people to have some accountability from their leaders.
