I heard the CEO of Washington Mutual on the radio in Seattle this morning, saying mortgage applications were down nearly 50% last month. They notified 5000 employees nationwide that they may be let go within the next 60 days.

Ford stepped up incentives in California. You can have rebates AND get 3.39% loan for up to 66 months for customers with FICO 700+. My guess is that October sales are not going well.
