Hi X,

Thanks for the nice post. I will try to find your review of "Being Dead".. Thanks again..

I am glad you mentioned Netflix. I have heard good thing about it from a convenience POV, but not from a selection POV. That's been our problem is finding stuff we like. I will look into them.

Thanks for the little testimonial on your reading class. If what you are doing doesn't do the job, I don't know what will. Kudos to you and your props. :).. I think the joy of reading might be inherent in a person's personality.

At first, maybe, it is an attempt to remove themselves from one's own reality or real life situation. I don't know.. I know I started early. And then it becomes a quest for knowledge about that "other place".. And then just for joy, THEN it becomes ALL THREE..

Last night we had a long telephone conversation with our dear friends from the Bay area. We have just set up a date to meet in a couple of weeks to sit around and drink wine, talk books, look at maps, and listen to music, in no particular order.. <g>

I was known as "the book worm" .. It hurt me for a time once when I heard it from an adult. Because in my spare time, I would read rather than being interested in old car engines.. But I kept on reading... :) And still am. Finished another Bill Bryson book just a few minutes before we touched down in Sac. Speaking of that,

The conch reminded me of our recent trip. We planned it around Hana's celebration of "Aloha days". Nightly events centered around traditional Hawaiian culture all with a small town flavor. A nice addition to our daytime activities.. They always blew the conch as the court would arrive. :)..

Well thanks again for conversing with me here. As in real life, I always prefer a more quiet venue. Just like for reading :)..
