I agree, a serious concern. S.A. gold mines are especially hard hit and are not benefiting in the recent rise. True believers say that gold is constant and all other currencies rise or fall against it. A neat concept, but it doesn't change a damn thing.

Searle, why is the S.A. rand so strong? A question I asked a while ago. If S.A. is screwed up, and their currency is rising, what does that say about the US dollar?

I am invested in mostly N.A. gold mines and todate have done very well, thanks to the rise in the POG.

I haven't followed the GPM thread for quite some time, as it was deteriorating, imo, with personal attacks. Maybe I will look at it again. Trouble is, time is not unlimited.
