Looks like WA State Senator Patty Murray is the political winner in obtaining federal funds for Seattle/King County's light rail project. Jennifer Dunn, Republican Congress Rep from WA 8th District and George Nethercutt, Spokane who plans to run against Murray tried to get the White House to support their plan to block the funds. The White House did not go along with their plan.

What do you think about what Secy of Defense Rumsfield said about Iraq?? He said that there was no way to track if we were succeeding, he said we would be bogged down, he wondered if they are producint more terrorists than we are capturing, and he said it's much cheaper for them to produce a terrorist ("millions") than for us to capture them ("billions.")

What's the deal? Answer me this: is he a democrat or a republican? And why was he painting such a rosy picture to Congress whilst he didn't believe it himself?

Americans are slow to anger, but when they do get angry, look out.
The administration has trashed what America stands for, and most citizens are angry and aren't either GOP or Dem about it.

You can expect the same and more from the democrats as

From the democrats?? The Dems have been spineless jellyfish. A galaxy of charges could have been investigated since day one, instead the Congressional opposition has been cowed by little things like anthrax attacks, snipers, death of primary Dem opposition and 400 hours/day of right-wing radio vs 5 hrs of non-right-wing.

A phalanx of right-wing books with polemics instead of facts, with titles like "Treason" from people who advocate killing and threatening liberals has been up to now, effective. At least that's what the Rove-led extremists thought.

What's really been happening is that Americans aren't quite as stupid as sheep, and those who disagree with policy have been getting pissed off at tactics to shove those policies down our throats. Now the books are coming out in opposition. Surprisingly, these are more fact that polemic.
