OK, it was not spin, it was a lie. You know it, and everyone else knows it. A department Secretary does NOT send out hypothetical memos to his staff on such a serious matter. This was a a real memo. You know, it took Secretary of Defense McNamara about 15 years to realize and admit he had made a mistake in Vietnam. I am Happy to see that Rumsfield has seen the light much, much earlier. It is to his credit. Of course, if you wish to take away his credit, go right ahead.
