VOX column in G and M today uses price of Gillette ($31.04) as his price for Goldcorp. A simple mistake by a very simple writer Cloet. However he calculated all his market caps, value per ounce in the ground etc using this number so the numbers are wrong by a factor of 2. Now we know that G on NYSE is Gillette, G on TSX and GG on NYSE are symbols for Goldcorp so you think a financial writer would too. You can still read the erroneous article on the web site. A complete retraction with I'm sure an abject apology will be out tomorrow. globeandmail.ca
