We have to be smarter that's all. If we don't do this publicly, should we legislate the private side into submission? Most of the abuses of the medicare and medicaid are by the damn doctors themselves. They are the ones billing the max on everything. The AMA has way too strong a lobby in this country. Doctors are way over compensated IMHO. We can reduce the cost of health care by capping what doctors can charge. And by enforcing the law for abusing the system with mandatory jail sentences. In either case we need to improve health care in this country, and IMO we can best do it together. Right now if someone is feeling sick and they can actually afford a doctor they still don't go because the cost is too high. Then when they really get sick, they have to go and this time they can't afford the required late stage treatment at all, so the tax payer picks up the tab for that anyway. It's a lose lose situation. We can do better. Orca
