If Clark is a GOP plant he's doing a terrible job. He's damaging the GOP immensely and making people think twice about voting Republican for national security reasons. He's also a vocal opponent of Bush's on the way he rushed into war with Iraq. Funny you say that, because the GOP says he's a Clinton plant, even a stand-in for Hillary. Neither are true. Wes Clark is the real deal. Like most generals, he was not allowed to be political during his career. He could not choose political parties until after he retired. Same as Powell. No one eeven knows what political party Powell is really part of. He could just as well be a Democrat. Gore was going to make him S of S too you know.
