David, a quick search on Google will reveal who the author of that editorial is: Hendrik Hertzberg, former Carter speech writer.

Looks like he's gone from defending Carter's legacy to attacking Rush's.

The New Yorker comments on Rush:
A horrible, pointless, piece of liberal claptrap.

Just more liberal hatred and personal attacks, obviously patterned after Al Franken's putred sludge. It just points up the fact that liberals have no agenda other than to attack conservatives. Sickening, really.

Its appalling how one sided and biased you are. Rush's commentary has been loaded with hatred and personal attacks against liberals for years.........much worse that what you see in the New Yorker. Yet, you never object. Making matters worse much of it is based on his own conjecture and opinion......and yet, you found him marvelously informed and on point.

Its always good to have an opposing view but when the view is filled with bile, deceit and hypocrisy, then its of little value. Rush criticized drug addicts while he fed his own addiction. He finally fessed up AFTER the truth come out. Frankly, I wish they would lock him up and throw away the key. Unfortunately, that won't happen because he can afford a good attorney.
