The Pentagon contracts out every activity except dropping bombs and firing guns.

So Kerry believes we shouldn't have a strong defense because (gasp) the defense contractors give more money to Republicans than Democrats?

I suppose Kerry believes that lawsuits against companies that didn't even make or distribute asbestos should be allowed to continue and threaten those companies' existence (and the jobs of those companies' employees) merely because the trial lawyers give lots more money to Democrats than Republicans?

I suppose Kerry believes that government should hire more workers and give them big fat raises since virtually all government employee unions are staunch supporters of the Democratic Party?

The post you were responding to, by the way, asked you to prove one of your misstatements about what I said. I note that you completely ignored that and just launched into another non sequitur. Par for the course.

Here was our exchange:

You: You assertion that all defence contracts were the responsibility of Republicans is ridiculous.

Me: Could you kindly point me to the post and the exact words where I said that?

You: Here's one big reason the GOP likes big defense contracts:
Soft Money for Defense in 2002
etc.

You can't point to my "assertion" because I didn't make that assertion. I merely observed when various programs had started. Most were during Republican administrations, some were not (which by itself means little since Republicans held the White House for 20 out of the 24 years from 1968 to 1992).
