This little tyke seems fascinated by corporal punishment. Since we never posted anything to him before or since, perhaps you could help him out with some TOU guidance? Thanks.

Bob,

I have a couple of suggestions. The first is that this thread (#subject-51108) be renamed:

Welcome to SI: Test Your Ignore feature here before you start posting!

or alternatively:

Read this thread if you were ever philosophically opposed to the introduction of the ignore feature.

Yes, that's my comment on the last 60 posts or so on that thread.

The second suggestion is related. How hard would it be to implement a "global" ignore list as a disciplinary tool. The way I see it working is that a person put on "global" ignore would be added to each SI poster’s ignore list automatically. It’s one step short of disabling the account or banning the poster.

After a number of offences, the poster is suspended for say two weeks then allowed back but on "global" ignore. After the suspension any individual can take the person off their ignore list if they choose to but no one is forced to take them off their ignore list. Each member has to actively make a choice to allow them back into the community of posters.

SI Bob, Is the bug in the charts that gives us a bunch of straight lines on your agenda for repair?
Thanks and welcome back,
