The spirit of your argument is bogusly disguised as genuine concern for the "unborn"; whereas you have little to no compassion/humanity for poor, struggling, most often confused young women in the midst of a very difficult situation. If you placed the amount of energy in preventing abortion as you did in assisting/educating young men and women about biology, sexuality etc... and made proviosns for "non-judgemental" alternatives -- you would win far more friends in society/government and be doing Jesus a great bit of justice. But instead you prefer to walk around with rosary beads in hand and pictures of aborted fetuses. This provides better shock value I grant you and certainly makes for good newsreel, but frankly, it reflects poor priorities & quite transparent motives. Jesus Christ certainly would be opposed to abortion, but he would be more opposed to those directing energy away from the expectant mothers in preference to what boils down to a "born-again,evengelical" agenda. Your message (and that of yours) is inconsistent and lacks practicality. You certainly should be commended for defending the life of a helpless fetus; but fall EXTREMELY short in supporting the poor girl next door (and guy) with a difficult and akward situation. Many in which would have been prevented if you and yours did not obstruct practical school-based instruction/prevention. Fact is; only because its happened for 10,000+ years now - is that young women get pregnant and DID NOT WANT TO. They made bad choices or very often DID NOT KNOW or APPRECIATE the significance of what they were engaged in. Also, this pays no mind to RAPE, INCEST, and possible DEATH/SEVERE HARM to a completely innocent expectant mother. -JH BTW, as a related aside: Would Jesus support CAPITAL PUNISHMENT? If you say NO he would not -- then your correct. Therein you should be supporting CANDIDATES that are opposed to both ABORTION & CAPITAL PUNISHMENT. That would provide you consistent cover and eliminate the thinly-veiled, morally convenient/shallow stand that you take.
