"The Man Who Sold the Eiffel Tower" is a great read. It is long out of print, but if you are interested I think you might be able to find it at

abebooks.com

Thanks for the links to Dale literature. The fellow SI threadster whom I mentioned had actual copies of the original literature.

I read your post re the curriculum in your private school. I am curious, did the female students also participate in rebuilding automobiles? Looking back, the only failing I can recall with regard to my education in the previous century was that the female students were not allowed to take drafting or shop, and the male students were not permitted to take home economics. Other than that quirkiness, there seemed to be no gender bias in my schooling of yore. Our teachers' attitudes were that we--all of us--could do or be anything to which we aspired, and such was encouraged. We were also forced to think for ourselves, find our own levels, and eschew groupthink. I was not fully cognizant of this until I increasingly came into contact with people who had not had such intangibles drummed into them in their formidable years.
