agreed.

but i think the change in employment structure here is a bit more than just getting rid of dead weight during the good times.

that is why this jobless recovery is unique as far as i can tell.

the investment in tech boom is now producing the means to eliminate jobs, not your typical business cycle of recessions which were preceded by high interest rates AND high inflation...and the resultant job elimination to be followed by rehiring during the recovery phase...

in fact we see the opposite.

we saw unprecedented lowering of rates AND deflationary pressure simultaneously AND job elimination...all during the most accommodative possible of monetary policy (albeit fiscal policy leaves much to be desired, imo)

it almost feels like the "dark side" of productivity is charting new waters for us
