No. The point of the Bush doctrine is not to wait until threats become lethal....Saddam had thumbed his nose at the US and the world for 12 years....and as Kay's report has stated he was continuing to pursue WMD.....Accordingly, Bush never used the words "imminent threat". He did not need to. JLA

Are going to dodge the question by quibbling over my paraphrasing of what Bush said? I think the intent is clear. He implied that Saddam could mount an attack on the US. <It is becoming more and more obvious every day that he couldn't.>.........Blix & the UN were telling anybody that would listen for many years that Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction. <We have sent our sons and daughters to die in Iraq in order to oust the dictator of a foreign country. Doesn't that bother you?>........sad, but true. BTW the sons & daughters were not sent to oust a dictator......they were sent for OIL.......Bush/Cheney/Wolfowitz/Rummie/Halliburton/Bechtal/Brown & Root/Corporate Power/etc..
