Ted, it suggests Rumsfeld should not be Sec. of Defense.

I've had my doubts about Rumsfeld for a long time now, but I've reserved judgement on whether he should hold that position. In pursuit of results, many people turn into confirmed jerks. Rudy Giulliani is one of them; he rubbed many people the wrong way, but he did great things for NYC, including acting as a pillar of strength when the Twin Towers fell.

The memo certainly shows me that Rumsfeld is thinking about the right things and not deluding himself, even if he's too headstrong to admit it in public.

I guess I didn't make myself clear enough. I think he's smart enough and knowledgeable. However, I think he has difficulty dealing with people and should be used as a primary source, and not as a director of people.

Look at all the people and countries he has p*ssed off!
