OK, I'm a lurker. I'm grateful for those of you who post (well, most ;) - hey are these allowed here?), but I figured out a long time ago that it takes a lot less time to read a post than to compose a useful post. It's a shame that it could not continue as it was in its heyday.

When I first started reading G&K it seemed like such a friendly place. I've never seen the point to making a special trip to Boston to dis the Red Sox or to the North Side of Chicago to point out that the Cubs are LOSERS (not that I hold either of these opinions). So why do people who don't find merit in G&K go there to talk smack? Just move on to a board that is more consistent with your views.

I think it is fine to challenge G&K concepts and to point out weaknesses, but I find the arguments more persuasive if they are presented deferentially as if to a jury of peers rather than condescendingly as if to mental inferiors.

Greg

P.S. I am happy to see FL checked in. G&K is one of the few threads I read on SI. I always enjoyed your contributions here and was sad when UF informed us of your stroke. I wish you the best of health going forward.

Still here.
Still lurking, selling options, swing and/or day trading (when I have the time), and mostly holding and accumulating companies I believe have a competitive advantage.
Still can't type worth a damn.
Still don't understand the software business.
Oh well.

Following along as usual, though I think that the formation of this thread might be as big a jinx to the rally as a certain unnamed fan was to the Cubs ;-).

I'm here too, although the longer I hang around, the less I feel I know. Moderated seems like a good idea for getting a thread that focuses on its purpose. All the best to all the best.

Hi everyone,

Just found the thread and plan to stick around, mostly in lurker mode.

It really is nice to see members of the original gang checking back in again!

Still learning many lessons about investing...and life.

Still lurking.

Actually Mike, I thought that your request might affect my one post a year rule so I checked back to see how many previous posts I'd done in my 3 years on SI. I was surprised to see that it was 19. However seeing as 2 were on the mudge thread I don't think they should count.

"d" here, answering the lurker call. I lurked through the pre-bubble, the bubble, the broken bubble, and now I lurk as the recovery is in progress.

Not lurking at the moment. Busy stomping out fires. Could use some help in SD.

Are grinnies and frownies legal on this thread?
Where's the FAQ?
