Yes Wilson was quite stupid to volunteer that he was sent by the CIA to investigate a matter of of national security. The fact that his wife's identity was widely know by many in the media made his selfish need for his five minutes even more stupid. And the fact his wife violated her oath by revealing her identity at the time of her first kiss of wilson makes it understandable why so many in the media already knew of her cover. And that fact revealed by wilson further shows what an idiot he was. The fact the plame was married to the guy for six years and should have known what a flake he was also reveals her poor judgement for suggesting he be given a security assignment. But stupid people do stupid things and cause problems that waste everyone's time.
