That is why we have a legal system to decide it. Having the Government move in like this is wrong.

The executive branch and the legislature are co-equal with the judicial system. All three form "the Government". I would argue that "the people" are part of "the government", as well.

The rights at stake here are too important to be treated lightly. The ethical issues are not at all clear cut.

My wife has been on a respirator twice in her life for approximately four/five weeks.. Kidneys shut down etc.. several heart stoppages.. and doctors gave up on her one time when they discharged her from rehab unable to help... She's still kicking.. also had a brother in law in a coma for two years after brain anerusim before he passed away.. He never gave any indication of being aware of anybody around him.

I find the whole thing difficult to process when i see this person more alive than dead, in that bed and decide to pull her feeding tube..
