Ted, the L.A. story you cite isn't an example of affirmative action, but an example of community involvement by citizens, businesses, and celebrities. This is an example of a real solution to a real problem.

Affirmative action comes either in the form of quotas, reverse discrimination, or subtle subjective influences. It's an example of a fake solution to a real problem.

The demographics suggest otherwise. The lot of minorities in this country is improving because the laws were changed after the 60s riots and new ones created like AA. Its not because whites suddenly got magnaninous and decided to share the pie.

Ten, Disney Hall in LA is opened. You guys should go see it. I plan to see it when I come down next. The architecture is amazing. I don't much care for Gehry's work but this one is stellar. Let me know if you go see it.
