Have you ever read anything like Jonathan Chait's melt down in the New Republic?

Chait's piece was done to make a point. And he wanted to write an interesting column. The right had Clinton's personal failures to point at. It is only in retrospect that the excesses are obvious. The Left seems to take a personal hatred from the time of the election, using Florida as an excuse, and build on that by personalizing his FP decisions. But, of course, you feel it more because it is your ox being gored.

A tremendous amount of this is inflamed by the 24/7 media cycle.

It's just the opposite with Bush. I've never seen the emotion and raw overt hatred that the pundits and other leftist elites express for Bush.

You must be kidding. The hatred was deep before he was even elected and never let up for a day. I could not believe it.
