"Onced Saved Always Saved"?

IIPet. Ch.2:20-22
20: For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21: For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22: But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

Dear Sidney: When the King asked him : " Friend how camest thou in "hither" and not having a wedding garment" and the man was "speechless" you can only reach one conclusion and that is the man was trying to sneak in .
If you look up the definition of the word "hither" it is " "the near or adjacent side" I take this to mean that the man was sitting almost in the front row and off to one side. If I am picturing this correctly, he wasn't sitting in the middle of a row but rather on a side next to the side aisle, as if he was one of the last ones in and he squeezed in on the other people.
Another definition of "hither" is "to or towards this place". If you would rather use this definition the King was questioning how the man even got near the wedding hall much less sitting down almost in the front row.
Interesting how the King called the man "friend" . Could the King have known him or recognized him but still he had to do what he had to do. Even if the King knew him or knew of him or was known as a "nice guy" or a "good guy" it did not lessen his punishment and the manner in which he was expelled.
Never the less the King was astonished at the mans aplomb. Last it states the man was "speechless" ...I think he knew he was 'busted' or he would have tried to defend himself.
It reminds me of the man that ended up in hell and had some brothers still alive on the earth and he asked the Lord if he could go back and warn his brothers about where he was. The Lord told him if they would not believe the prophets and if they would not believe him personally then they would not believe him even if he was allowed to return and warn his family.
I guess my point is that just as the man at the wedding feast did not try to defend himself or try to get the King to change his mind, the man that ended up in hell also did not try to convince the Lord to get him out of where he was only to warn his family, which he was not allowed to do.

Nice to correspond with you again....IN Christ gregor

"Whoever comes to me I will not cast out" And in Hebrews "I will never leave you or forsake you"

once again, you must come to Him. that is a choice on your part. God will not leave you or forsake you, but YOU can choose to leave and forsake Him. you can throw away the gift even after you received it. the choice is yours.
