I understand your argument against irrationality, but let's not reduce 9/11 to something as mundane as a guy falling off a ladder, or an idiot driver on a cell phone causing an accident.

This response by a certain group of Americans was totally predictable. When George Bush, after 9/11, declared the war on terror, it was crystal clear that the REAL battle would be fought in the United States, against those who quickly forget about the carnage of 9/11 and would prefer no reaction to the protracted war which is necessary.

I do think most people will remember 9/11. But we ought to have a cable channel playing 9/11 replays 24/7, just so those who are inclined to file it away prematurely can have a constant reminder of why we need to be killing terrorists whenever we have an opportunity to do so. It doesn't matter if they are Iraqi terrorists, Al Qaeda, Palestinian terrorists, whatever ... we should be killing them like the cockroaches they are. Obviously, some people have short attention spans on this subject.

And besides, 9/11 didn't just kill 3,000 citizens, it also brought the most metropolitian city in the world down in an instant. Millions of people were affected. Sure, they lived, but that's not something they really want to live through again, considering the HUGE disruption to their lives.

Not to demean what the people of NYC went through......it was a horrible event. However, people throughout the world go through horrible events almost weekly. We have one every 50 years and we totally freak out, feeling that OUR horrible event justifies toppling gov't after gov't.

Just for a moment you might want to see how the rest of the world judges our behavior. We are put to a higher standard.......it comes with the superpower territory.
