You know, brent, you and Emile are so wrong about so many fundamental truths...

by all means, do share. i wouldn't want to continue down the wrong path. please correct me so that i may be sound in the faith.

that I'm beginning to think it is not even worth listening to your views that seem to have some merit on the Jews even

if we are misled about fundamental biblical truths, why would you want to stop listening to us? wouldn't this be a great opportunity to instruct us fellow Christians, so that we might be sound in the faith? doesn't this seem like good advice on how to deal with emile and me?

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. --2 Timothy 4:2-5

You are so legalistic when applying Old Testament versus New Testament in relation to Jews

heh. that's funny, coming from a dispensationalist such as yourself. usually i'm accused of spiritualizing the scripture too much.

but on something like salvation, you can't see the obvious differences. Perhaps you should read the New Testament again.

good idea. one can never read it enough.

We are NOT saved by WORKS

please show me where i claimed as much!

We don't receive it by our works — and we don't keep it by our works!

i never suggested otherwise.

Salvation is a FREE GIFT

you still have to claim your gift. God will not force you to accept it.

Salvation is not enduring or a process, but an event in time

oh really? perhaps we might both benefit from another reading of the new testament, mr. SOROS. for the scripture says: "but he that endureth to the end shall be saved." (matthew 10).

You become a CHILD OF GOD

answer me this. was judas a child of God or not?

Nothing can SEPARATE us from our Father

sure sounds that way with judas.

That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. --Acts 1:25
While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. --Acts 17:12

Jesus will NOT cast you out

oh really? let's get back to reading the new testament:

And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. --Revelation 12:9

We are "perfected for ever" by Jesus Christ. How could the Lord say such a bold statement if we had to earn or keep our salvation?

you keep your salvation by faith. you can lose faith. lucifer lost faith. king saul lost faith. judas lost faith. king david and the apostle peter are some good examples of people who lost faith but always returned to the Lord. therefore they met a different outcome than that of lucifer, saul, judas, etc.

"And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby YE ARE SEALED unto the day of redemption." Ephesians 4:30

thanks for reinforcing my point. we are sealed by the Holy Spirit. the scripture tells us not to grieve away the Holy Spirit, which is exactly what judas did, and peter did not. hence the different outcomes.

To lose your salvation — makes God a LIAR

let's be clear then. you believe then that judas was never saved to begin with?

They have NEVER been saved.

ok, i guess you anticipated my question.

so tell me what you think of this scripture then.

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Jesus will NOT cast you out
"...him that cometh to me I WILL IN NO WISE CAST OUT." John 6:37

notice that Jesus specifies that you have to come to him to not be cast out.

15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. --John 15:4-6

once again the principle is laid down, you must abide in Christ first if you do not want him to cast you out.
