If he were wiccan, no one here would be attacking him because no left wing crusading journalist would have "exposed" him.

Maybe FOX News would find the time.

That's true. And if he were a Wiccan rather than an evangelical Christian, he wouldn't likely see this as a holy war.

But the point remains that it is sympathy for his Christian rights in the face of a hostile news establishment that is driving those who support him. If he were a Wiccan, no one would care if he was taped in "church" or if some guy from the LA Times was pursuing him for a story. They'd probably be patting the reported on the back for exposing the nut masquerading as a general.

I remember a few years ago there was an "expose" of a Wiccan group on some military base in Texas that someone had infiltrated. I followed it because it was my job at the time to keep in touch with such things. I wonder if I still have some of the old news reports and posts from that particular incident... I don't recall any chatter from the right about freedom of religion and privacy. Talk about double standards!

Most "Wiccan" stuff I have read is "hippy dippy do it if it feels good" material. I keep referring to the controversy as "Gods and Generals" because Boykin would have fit right in with the Civil War Military types.

Someone criticizing Boykin said that that this type of rhetoric was upsetting the Muslims. Hey, they need to hear something back from us besides "we love you, please don't hit us again." All that does is make them believe we are cowards. And therefore kickable.
