The NRA is an extremist group. All extremist groups become harmful to society when they go too far or have too much power. The NRA has some legitimate issues, but they have become one of many corruptive organizations perverting our political process. Even conservatives who disagree with them cannot dare admit it. Like the right-wing Cubans in Miami, they threaten any politician who stands up to them and are therefore allowed to get away having way too much influence.
