How many people have any militias killed with semi-automatic hunting rifles? If you have evidence to the contrary that the militias are composed of felons who aren't allowed to own firearms lets here your data. Timothy Mc Veigh is such a rare circumstance that its not worth legislating against. Your points are based solely on irrational fears and not statistics or data or reality.

Don't be scared of law abiding people with guns. Remember, the police are law abiding citizens with guns. Are you scared of the police too? The Swiss with 7 million people have hundreds of thousands of fully-automatic rifles in their homes (see GunCite's "Swiss Gun Laws")
